Grouping Tasks

Organize related tasks into collapsible groups to simplify navigation in complex production lines.

Overview

When production lines grow large, the graph can become difficult to navigate. Task grouping lets you collapse related tasks into a single visual element.

Creating a group

  1. Select the tasks you want to group (see Selecting tasks)
  2. Right-click to open the context menu
  3. Select Groups > Create Group
  4. Click the group to open the panel if it doesn't automatically open
  5. Enter a name and optional description for the group

Working with groups

  • Expand: Double-click the group to show its contents
  • Collapse: Click the Collapse All icon in the side panel
  • Delete Group: Right-click the group, navigate to groups and select Delete

Groups help you focus on the section of the pipeline you're working on while hiding completed or stable sections.

Tips for organizing with groups

  • Group by workflow stage: Organize tasks into ingestion, transformation, and output groups
  • Group by data domain: Keep related data processing together
  • Collapse completed sections: When iterating on one part of a pipeline, collapse stable sections to reduce visual noise
